Cranbury Company Takes Over Emergency Dispatch in Lawrence
Officials say the change will save roughly $1 million over the next five years and put more police officers on patrol.
There was a flurry of activity at the Lawrence Township Police Department on Sunday, as the department prepared to become the first in the state to transition its municipal 911/emergency dispatch into the hands of private contractor. At 12:01 a.m. on Monday, April 1, the change became official. "We're excited to be here and will do all we can to make this as successful as it can be," said Lawrence Consalvos, president & chief executive officer of Cranbury-based iXP Corporation, the only company to respond to the Township's request for proposals. Amen. Professional outsourcing at a savings to the citizens. Thank you Mr. KRAWCZUN. Police and fire departments are the only departments that should be staffed properly with little cut backs on equipment because lives depend on it. Cut and out source everything else.   more ›
