Lawrence Man Among 25 Defendants in Child Porn Ring
Two Mercer County men, including one from Lawrence, were picked up on charges of kiddie porn, which the AG's office described as the "torture" of children.
Duane Bell, 43, of Lawrence, was one of 24 men and a juvenile arrested in a kiddie porn ring that spanned 11 counties and the state. Bell was among two Mercer county residents arrested in the probe, called Operation Ever Vigilant. Along with the other 24 defendants, Bell was picked up in a multi-agency operation that ran from February 18 to 22. Also charged was Giovanni Jimenez, 37, of Trenton. Operation Ever Vigilant itself three months ago, when the Digital Technology Investigations Unit of the State Police began searching out offenders who were making child porn available to other aficionados of the practice.
