Prostitution Qiaoling Yang, 43, of Flushing, N.Y. was arrested about 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9, and charged with engaging in prostitution and promoting prostitution after she allegedly offered an undercover officer sex in exchange for money in a room at the Red Roof Inn in the 3200 block of Brunswick Pike (Route 1), according to Lawrence Township police spokesman Lt. Mark Ubry. He said the undercover officer, in response to a suspicious advertisement that police found online, arranged to meet the suspect at the motel. The investigation is continuing with the assistance of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials, he added. Burglary A burglary that took place at Yielded Vessels Fellowship, a house of worship located in the 600 block of Whitehead Road in Lawrence Township, remains under investigation by township police, according to police spokesman Lt. Mark Ubry. He said the break-in occurred between 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 17, and noon on Tuesday, Sept. 18. The burglar entered the building by breaking the lower panel on a glass door. Stolen were about $350 worth of property, including a television, DVD player, video game console and assorted game discs, he said. A woman from New York was charged with prostitution after she was arrested last Thursday afternoon (July 12) during another undercover investigation by Lawrence Township police. The suspect, identified as Guiping Ji, 48, of Flushing, N.Y., was taken into custody about 2:45 p.m. Thursday after she allegedly offered an undercover officer sex for money in a room at the Howard Johnson’s Motor Lodge in the 2900 block of Brunswick Pike (Route 1), according to police department spokesman Lt. Mark Ubry. Ubry said the undercover officer arranged to meet the woman at the motel after responding to a suspicious newspaper advertisement police spotted. The motels on Rt 1 are a hotbed of prostitution and the police dept needs to do more to secure the safety of Lawrenceville citizens in that surrounding area. Prostitution usually comes hand in hand with drug dealing too. I also think that instead of trying to set up stings to set up the "working girls" they should be setting up the "johns" instead and for every man they convict, they should post …   more ›
