East Windsor Man Charged with Attempted Kidnapping

The East Windsor man who led several police departments in a chase Friday faces additional charges after he pointed a gun at his ex-girlfriend and others

The 42-year old East Windsor man involved in a police pursuit Friday was issued a warrant for his arrest by Freehold Township Municipal Court after he allegedly attempted to kidnap his ex-girlfriend and threatened her, and others, with a gun. Michael Scholander of Dennison Drive, East Windsor, faces seven charges in Freehold and is being held in Monmouth County jail on $170,000 bail.  According to the complaint warrant, Scholander is alleged to have ordered his ex-girlfriend to get into his car by pointing a pistol at her, and threated to kill her ex-husband if she did not cooperate, which led to him being charged for criminal attempt and terroristic threats. Police Chase Started in Lawrence Ends in Man's Arrest

The suspect, a 42-year-old East Windsor resident, was wanted in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident in Freehold Township.

A police pursuit of a car being driven by a man suspected of being armed with a gun following an alleged domestic violence incident in Monmouth County briefly involved Lawrence Township police early this morning (Friday, Dec. 7). While Lawrence Township police ended their involvement in the chase soon after it entered Hamilton Township, the suspect – identified as Michael Scholander, 42, of Dennison Drive, East Windsor – was eventually stopped and taken into custody in East Windsor, according to Lawrence Township police spokesman Detective Sgt.
