Local Charities Receive Grants From Community Foundation

The Trenton Area Soup Kitchen, the Crisis Ministry of Mercer County, Mercer Street Friends, the Rescue Mission of Trenton, and HomeFront recently benefited from the generosity of the Lawrence Township Community Foundation.

Five local charities that support Lawrence residents in need got a boost from the Lawrence Township Community Foundation (LTCF) at a check presentation ceremony on Feb. 26 at HomeFront’s Lawrence Community Center on Eggerts Crossing Road.  All the groups have experienced not only increased demand for their services but also greater difficulty in fundraising due to Hurricane Sandy.  Each year, LTCF awards over $50,000 in grants to nonprofit organizations serving Lawrence residents.  A special fundraising effort this fall enabled LTCF to divide $3,800 among the five agencies. Community Foundation to Raise Funds for Local Sandy Relief

The Lawrence Township Community Foundation is collecting donations to support five local agencies that are helping families in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

All five have seen a sharp increase of people in need since Hurricane Sandy.   The Crisis Ministry of Mercer County, Mercer Street Friends, the Rescue Mission of Trenton, the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen and HomeFront are all seeing a higher volume of residents seeking help since the storm hit late last month.   The Lawrence Township Community Foundation will donate $500 to each organization as part of the fundraiser. Lawrence History to be Focus of Community Foundation Event on Saturday

Discussions and exhibits that trace the growth of Lawrence Township from the colonial era to today will highlight the Lawrence Township Community Foundation event begin held from noon to 4 p.m. on Oct. 27 at Lawrence High School.

Community Foundation 'Conversation' to be Held Oct. 27

The Lawrence Township Community Foundation, in cooperation with the Lawrence Historical Society, will host its10th Annual Community Conversation to discuss the "people, periods, and places" that have made up Lawrence over the years.

Community Foundation to Award 12 Grants Later This Week

Now celebrating its 10th anniversary, The Lawrence Township Community Foundation has awarded more than $600,000 to nonprofit groups serving the needs of the Lawrence community.

Community Foundation Awards $20,000 in Grants

Eleven organizations that serve the Lawrence Township community were award grants last week by the Lawrence Township Community Foundation

Grants totaling $20,000 were presented by the Lawrence Township Community Foundation to 11 local philanthropic organizations during a reception held on Dec. 8 at the Lawrence Main Street Artists Network gallery. "We are very lucky in Lawrence to have generous corporate angels – Bristol-Myers Squibb and Educational Testing Service – who support LTCF and enable us to provide funding to our nonprofit partners serving the needs of Lawrence residents,” said Jori Fahrenfeld, president of the community foundation.
