A body matching the description of Sarah Majores was found in the D&R Canal in Lambertville Wednesday night, four days after the 39-year-old woman went missing. “At 4:50 this afternoon, a female body was recovered in the D & R Canal near the lock south of Bridge Street in Lambertville," Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III said in a press release Wednesday evening. "While the clothing description is consistent with what Sarah Majoras was wearing, a positive identification, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be handled by the Hunterdon County Medical Examiner. The search will continue Wednesday for 39-year-old Sarah Majoras of Lambertville, who went missing early Saturday morning (Jan. 26) while walking home. Volunteers who want to help search should meet at Rago Arts, 333 North Main Street in Lambertville at 10 a.m. The phone number at Rago Arts is (609) 397-9374. Majoras is a bartender at John and Peter's in New Hope, but was out at the bar as a patron on Friday night. It was after 2 a.m. on Saturday when she walk over the bridge and into Lambertville. Security cameras on the New Hope-Lambertville Bridge recorded her crossing the Delaware River and turning north on Lambert Lane, according to Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns III. Can you help? A woman went missing early Saturday while walking home from New Hope into Lambertville.
The search is on for 39-year-old Sarah Majoras of Lambertville, who went missing early Saturday while walking home. According to a report in the Trentonian, Majoras is a bartender at John and Peter's in New Hope, but was out at the restaurant as a patron the night she disappeared. It was after 2 a.m. when she began to walk home over the bridge and into Lambertville, where she lives. Majoras was last seen wearing a green camouflage jacket, a white knit hat and glasses. A woman who answered the phone at the bar on Sunday night said she met with police on Sunday afternoon and as of 3:30 p.m. there was no word on Majoras whereabouts. My heart goes out to the family of this poor woman. Even if she isn't Sarah Majoras, the woman found had family and friends who loved her too. I hope that they find Sarah very soon, safe and sound. And if this turns out to be Sarah, then I hope whatever evil monster took her life is found quickly and be thrown under the jail...   more ›
