Police Blotter: Girls Charged as Suspects in Burglary

Here's a roundup of notable police activity in Lawrence Township from June 7 through June 12.

Burglary Two 15-year-old girls from Lawrence Township were charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief after they were allegedly discovered inside a Putnam Avenue home on Sunday afternoon, June 10, and a third juvenile female is still being sought in connection with the break-in, according to Lawrence Township Police Department spokesman Lt. Mark Ubry. The property in question is a rental home that is currently unoccupied. The owner went to check on the property on June 10 and allegedly discovered three teenage girls inside the house, Ubry said. The woman recognized one of the girls as a former resident, he said, explaining that the girl’s family had been evicted several months earlier for allegedly not paying rent. The woman called…

Police Blotter: House Floods After Copper Pipes Stolen During Burglary

Here's a roundup of notable police activity in Lawrence Township from May 31 through June 6.

Burglary A burglary in which thousands of dollars worth of copper pipes were stolen, causing a water leak that completely flooded the basement of a home, in under investigation, Lawrence Township Police Department spokesman Lt. Mark Ubry said. He said the break-in occurred to a vacant house in the 200 block of Lawrence Road (Route 206) sometime between May 20 and Monday, June 4. The owner called police at 1:58 p.m. on June 4 after he went to check on the property and discovered the damage, Ubry said. He said water filled the basement almost all the way up to the first floor, completely covering the home’s electrical panel. Cops Charge Three Suspects With Lawrence Burglary

Three men - two of whom were already locked up in a Pennsylvania jail after they were allegedly caught riding in a stolen car - were charged on Tuesday with burglary and theft in connection with a residential break-in that happened in Lawrence on May 24.

Update, 12:45 p.m. June 6: New information has been obtained about the vehicle pursuit and foot chase that preceded the arrests of suspects James and Ward in Morrisville, Pa. That information can be found at the bottom of this story.   Three suspects have been identified and charged in connection with a burglary that occurred two weeks ago while residents were sleeping in their beds in their Pear Street home, a Lawrence Township Police Department spokesman revealed last night (Tuesday, June 5).   Driving Under the Influence Justin Kramer, a 22-year-old Lawrence Township resident, was arrested about 2:50 a.m. on Sunday, May 27, and charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving and careless driving after he allegedly performed poorly on field sobriety tests, according to Lawrence Township Police Department spokesman Lt. Mark Ubry. Homes Burglarized, Cars Stolen While Residents Slept

Two homes in the 700 block of Pear Street - one located in Lawrence Township and the other in Trenton - were burglarized early Thursday. Four vehicles and thousands of dollars worth of property were stolen during the two break-ins, police said.

A family on Pear Street in the southern end of Lawrence Township awoke Thursday morning to find that their home had been burglarized as they slept and their two cars had been stolen, along with the vehicles’ keys and $3,300 worth of small electronics, township police revealed today. Another house just a few doors away on the Trenton side of the same street was also burglarized early Thursday while residents of that home were sleeping and more electronics and two more vehicles were stolen, Trenton police confirmed. Property Stolen from Seven More Unlocked Vehicles

The crimes happened between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning on Freedom Boulevard, Harmony Avenue, Slack Avenue and Princeton Pike. GPS units, loose change and other items were stolen.

Lawrence Township police are investigating the theft of property from seven vehicles that were entered sometime during the overnight hours between Tuesday evening, April 3, and Wednesday morning, April 4, police department spokesman Lt. Charles Edgar confirmed. Police believe that all of the vehicles had been left unlocked by their owners, he said. The crimes happened on Freedom Boulevard, Harmony Avenue, Slack Avenue and Princeton Pike. Another Burglary Reported on Hazelhurst Avenue

The home break-in reported on April 4 follows two residential burglaries reported on March 21. In the latest crime, a flat-screen TV and loose charge, worth a total of about $600, were stolen.

Lawrence Township detectives are investigating another residential burglary in the 100 block of Hazelhurst Avenue, police spokesman Lt. Charles Edgar confirmed. The latest crime was reported at 2:46 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, when a 51-year-old woman called police after she returned home to find her house had been “rummaged through,” Edgar said. He said the crime is believed to have taken place between about 8 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. that day. Stolen were a flat-screen TV and some loose change, worth a total of about $600, Edgar said, noting that police are still trying to determine how the burglar gained entry to the residence. Drug-Related Arrests Made in Five-Day Period

Suspects were charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, according to Lawrence Township police.

Three individuals were arrested in Lawrence Township between March 22 and 26 and charged with drug-related offenses, according to township police spokesman Lt. Charles Edgar. Jacob Cole, 19, of Main Street, Lumberton, was arrested about 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, and charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, Edgar said. He said Sgt. Chris Longo was on patrol when he spotted Cole in the area of the Lawrence Middle School tennis courts off Gainsboro Road. Cole allegedly tried to hide when he saw Longo's police car approaching, he said. Home Burglaries on Hazelhurst Ave. Under Investigation

Lawrence Township police believe the two houses, located just doors apart, were burglarized between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on March 21.

Two residential burglaries that took place last week just doors apart in the 100 block of Hazelhurst Avenue remain under investigation by Lawrence Township detectives. In the first crime, a 51-year-old woman called township police at 7:26 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, to report that she had just realized that someone had entered her home and stolen about $60 worth of loose change from two bedrooms, according to police department spokesman Lt. Charles Edgar. He said the woman told police she believed the crime happened sometime between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. that day. Drug Possession A student at Lawrence High School – Cristian J. Osorio, 18, of Myrtle Avenue, Lawrence Township – was arrested at the school about 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24, and charged with multiple drug possession and possession with intent to distribute offenses, according to Lawrence Township police spokesman Lt. Charles Edgar. Acting on information alleging that Osorio was in possession of drugs, school administrators conducted an investigation and allegedly caught the 18-year-old on school property with marijuana, prescription medications, and drug paraphernalia, Edgar said.
