Lawrence Township police are investigating to determine if three residential burglaries that occurred last Friday (Feb. 1) in the central part of town were committed by the same person or persons. The break-ins took place just a few blocks apart on Drift Avenue, Gedney Road, and Northbrook Avenue. The burglary on Drift Avenue is believed to have taken place between 11:15 and 11:30 a.m. that day. Entry to the residence was gained by prying open a door, according to township police spokesman Lt. Mark Ubry. He said the homeowner reported that property valued at more than $1,300 was stolen, including Xbox 360 and Play Station 3 video game consoles, assorted coins and liquor. Lawrence Township police release details of latest break-ins.
Lawrence Township police are investigating several new burglaries and have released additional details about a number of recent break-ins that have already been reported by Lawrenceville Patch. The newest (not previously reported here) burglaries took place at a residence on Drexel Avenue, a business on Brunswick Pike and multiple businesses on Shinney Lane. While he declined to publicly discuss specific details due to the ongoing nature of the investigations, police spokesman Lt. Charles Edgar said detectives are hard at work employing multiple strategies to both solve past crimes and prevent new ones from occurring. Four burglaries and two attempted burglaries took place over a four-day period in Lawrence Township. Among the items stolen was a $17,000 utility vehicle from Lawrence High School. The vehicle was later found in Trenton.

Lawrence Township police are investigating Monday night's burglary of one home in the 900 block of Lawrence Road (Route 206) and an attempted break-in at another home just a few doors away.
A Lawrence Township family returned home Monday night (June 13) to find that their house in the 900 block of Lawrence Road (Route 206) had been burglarized. Police were on the scene quickly, as officers were already in the area investigating an attempted burglary to another house just a few doors away on the opposite side of the street. Lt. Charles Edgar, spokesman for Lawrence Township Police Department, said police received a call 9:45 p.m. Monday from a 77-year-old resident of the 900 block of Lawrence Road reporting that someone had just used a rock to smash out the glass in the side door of his home. Attempted Burglary Lawrence Township police are investigating an attempted burglary that took place at a residence on Gedney Road during the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 5, according to Lt. Charles Edgar, police department spokesman. He said the 74-year-old homeowner told police he was aroused from his sleep between 1:50 and 2 a.m. by a loud “bang” that he believed came from the rear of his home. Getting up, the homeowner turned on his outside lights and looked out a window. Not seeing anything amiss, he went back to sleep. Later that day, the elderly man’s daughter stopped in to visit.
