Adath Israel Congregation, located at 1958 Lawrence Rd. (Route 206), will host a community blood drive this Sunday, Jan. 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the congregation's social hall. Lawrenceville Elementary School, in cooperation with the Community Blood Council of New Jersey, will hold its annual Blood Drive this Thursday, Nov. 15 from 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the school on Craven Lane. The blood council will donate $10 per unit of blood donated to the award-winning Lawrenceville Elementary School garden. According to the UNC School of Medicine, between just over 40 and 70 percent of United States residents will need donated blood or blood products in their lifetime, yet less than 5 percent of the eligible population donates. PEAC Health & Fitness will be hosting its annual American Red Cross Blood Drive on Monday, Jan. 23, from 1:00 – 7:00 p.m. Located at 1440 Lower Ferry Rd. in Ewing, PEAC is conveniently and centrally located within the Ewing, Pennington, Hopewell, Lawrenceville, and Yardley communities, two miles from Exit 4 on Interstate 95 (Route 31 South). “The need for blood is ongoing, especially to those suffering from illness and cannot live without blood transfusions,” said Carol Field, account executive from the American Red Cross.
