Covering 62 acres and including parts of the Lawrence Hopewell Trail, Village Park offers visitors a variety of recreation options, from numerous swings, jungle gyms and other playground equipment for young children, to several volleyball and basketball courts for older youth and adults. There are also facilities for quoits, bocce and horseshoes. Lawrence Township's Gretel Gatterdam and Betty Leedom softball fields are located at Village Park, as are three lighted soccer fields and two lighted tennis courts. There's even a dog park! There are three entrances to the park. The Bergen Street entrance offers the best access to the tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, while the Yeger Drive entrance is best used to get to the softball and soccer fields, as well as the dog park. The Gordon Avenue also leads to the soccer fields. Lawrence Township purchased the land in 1970 and developed it into Village Park in 1992.
