Gwinnett County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Participation in Gwinnett Great Days of Service

Unfortunately, our roadways are becoming dumping grounds for illegal litter. Roadside litter also poses a serious threat to motorists and wildlife.  GCAC, in partnership with the Georgia Department of Transportation and Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful, has adopted Riverside Parkway from Lawrenceville-Suwanee to Duluth Highway.  Georgia's Adopt-A-Highway Program enlists volunteers to help remove litter from state roadsides. The program brings the environmental and monetary costs of littering into public awareness, and promotes civic responsibility and pride. Volunteers of the Adopt-A-Highway program serve as visible reminders to the public that we are all stewards of the land.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a non-profit organization founded on January 13, 1913 at Howard University in Washington, D.C. The public service sorority promotes academic excellence and provides assistance to persons in need.  Chartered in March 2003, the Gwinnett County Alumnae Chapter (GCAC) empowers Gwinnett County citizens with a comprehensive approach to community involvement and social development through Delta Sigma Theta’s Five Point Program Thrust.
