Today: Summer Family Night in Lawrence

What's up around town today.

If the rain holds off it will be a buggy night at the Lawrence Nature Center.

The center's ongoing Family Summer Night series is scheduled to continue this evening with a hunt in the meadow for insects. That's if the predicted thunderstorms cooperate.

Here's your daily guide to what's up in Lawrenceville.

1. Today's forecast calls for scattered thunderstorms with a high of 77 degrees and a 60 percent chance of rain.

2. Head over the Lawrence Nature Center at 7 p.m. for Family Summer Night. Attendees will search for insects in the meadow and on nature center grounds with Science Educator Sue Herrmann. Then use magnifying lenses and field guides to identify and classify the insects, while describing and drawing findings in a science notebook.  Young children can color pictures of flowers and butterflies.
