The program participants met throughout the school year to learn new sports and to socialize with their peers and form new friendships. Using Special Olympics of New Jersey’s facilities on Princess Road in Lawrence, as well as Slocum's Bowling Center in neighboring Ewing Township, the students worked to improve their physical fitness while socializing and having fun at the same time.

The program’s advisor, Crystal Rogozinski, said, "The students who participate in LMS Unified Sports are so sincere and amazing." She said she believes "Unified Sports benefits all students and is a wonderful opportunity."
