US Environmental Protection Agency Dignitary Visits Lawrence School

On March 12, Ben Franklin Elementary School (BF) welcomed Jane Nishida, director of International and Tribal Affairs of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), to learn more about the BF EPA and in preparation for her upcoming trip to Taiwan.

Director Nishida was joined by Justin Harris of the US EPA, Laura Hickey, executive director of Eco-Schools USA (part of the National Wildlife Federation) and Randal Solomon and Pam Mount from Sustainable Jersey.

Guests learned about the BF EPA, watched a short video, and toured the school. They talked to a group of BF students and met Dr. Lovell, superintendent. Third-graders Lauren Edgar, Gabby Caruso, and Shiamak Kalwachwala and second-graders Liam Thompson and Thomas Neuger led the tour.
