Slackwood Students, Staff Welcomed By 'Clap In'

A back-to-school ice cream party was also held, thanks to the school's PTO.

Editor's Note: The above photos were submitted by the PTO of Slackwood Elementary School.

Slackwood Elementary School last week held a “Clap In,” a new tradition that welcomes new students and staff with applause at the beginning of the school year. Shown in the photo above is teacher Jamie Kimball leading her new kindergarten class through the “Clap In.”

And on Friday, Sept. 7, the Slackwood PTO held its Back to School Ice Cream Party to welcome families back to school and give them a chance to catch up with friends they didn't see during the summer. Shown in the photo above, from left to right, are Kayla Bridgers, Julia Roman, and Alyssa Bridgers.
