Rider University Pushes Back Move-In for Some Students Because of Hurricane Irene

The university's Men's Tennis home opener, originally planned for Saturday afternoon, has also been cancelled.

Rider University has posted the following advisory on its website:

Hurricane Irene is posing a potential weather threat this weekend through Monday morning.

Precautionary measures have been initiated including postponing the student move-in schedule for the Discovery Program, MSLI and RAP Bridge until Monday, Aug. 29, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Recognizing that forecast changes may affect travel plans for students or campus conditions for employees on Sunday and Monday, we will update this site and hotline, (609) 219-2000, as necessary, but no later than Monday at 7 a.m.

Rider has also cancelled the Men's Tennis home opener against Lafayette that was scheduled for 3 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday).

Rider's full  student move-in, meanwhile, remains scheduled to begin Sept. 4, with classes set to start on Sept. 7.
