Reminder: Today is Deadline for Preschool Program

The class, which will integrate typically-developing 3-year-old children and 3-year-old special-needs children, will be limited to 16 students. Placement for eight typically-developing students will be based on a lottery. Applications are due today.

Today, March 11, is the deadline to apply for Lawrence Township school district’s preschool program for 3-year-olds for the 2011-2012 school year.

The program, which integrates typically-developing children and special-needs children, will meet for 2½ hours a day, five days a week at Lawrenceville Elementary School at 40 Craven Lane.  

The class will be limited to a total of 16 students, with placement for eight typically-developing 3-year-olds to be based on a lottery that will be held on March 17.

Special-needs students will be placed in the class through identification, evaluation and eligibility procedures as outlined by state code.

Tuition for the preschool program will cost $300 per month.

To be eligible for the program a child must at least three years of age on or before Oct. 1, 2011, must be a Lawrence Township resident, and must be toilet-trained.

Lottery applications are available at the main offices of all township elementary schools, the township school district office at 2565 Princeton Pike, or online.

Completed applications must be returned to Lawrenceville Elementary School by the end of the school day today.
