Lottery for Low Income Families for District Preschool Program

Children must be at least 4 years of age and no older than 5 on Oct. 1 to be eligible.

The Lawrence Township School District is now accepting applications for low income families for the district’s preschool program for 4 year olds located at Ben Franklin Elementary School.

This is a comprehensive program that services typically developing, low income, and special needs 4-year-old children. Classes will meet for 61⁄2 hours per day, 5 days per week. The 4-year-old class will consist of 18 to 20 children. Special needs students will be placed in the program by identification, evaluation, and eligibility procedures as outlined in the New Jersey Administrative Code.

Eligibility for this program requires that children must be at least 4 years of age and no older than 5 on Oct. 1, 2013, must be a resident of Lawrence Township, and must be toilet trained.

Transportation is provided for low income students. We will determine eligibility for free or reduced lunch for each student when federal guidelines are issued in July.

Preschool lottery applications are available at the Board of Education office, Ben Franklin Elementary School main office, or on our website Ben Franklin 2013-2014 Preschool 4 Yr Old Low Income Program.
