Eighth Graders Needed for ETS Study

Educational Testing Service (ETS) is working on a new approach to assessment called "Cognitively Based Assessment of, for and as Learning" (CBAL).  They will be conducting research on assessments using new eye-tracking technology and need Eighth Grade students who are willing to participate in the study.

Interested students will be invited to ETS (Lawrence) to take an assessment on a computer while video captures their eye, mouse and keystroke movements.  Following the assessment they will be asked to talk about what they were thinking and doing as they worked.  ETS will provide a $25 gift card as a token of appreciation for their participation.

ETS is looking for:

  • Students currently in the Eighth Grade. (During the summer, both incoming and outgoing Eighth Graders will be accepted).
  • Students with either normal vision with no corrective glasses or normal, corrected vision with either contacts or glasses.
  • Students able to read, write and speak fluently in English.

Tests are given after school, between 3-6 p.m., although in the summer tests will run all day.  The tests take about an hour and a half.  Space is limited to first-come, first-served.  See flyer for contact information.
