LMS Students Receive Reviews at Teen Arts Festival

In mid-May approximately 150 Lawrence Middle School students participated in the Mercer County Teen Arts Festival. This annual event celebrates the artistic, musical and literary talents of middle and high school students.

Students from the LMS orchestra and band, under the direction of Mrs. Melissa Clark and Mr. Ron Taglairino, performed several musical pieces and were then critiqued by a professional musician. Language Arts students of Ms. Maria Przechachi, Mr. Chazarrae Freeman, Ms. Lynann Creegan and Mrs. Kerry MacDonald conferred with local writers who critiqued their essays and short stories.

Mrs. Priscilla Taylor's ECP students presented their video entitled "Steve Jobs." A local artist critiqued nine of Mrs. Jennifer Skorupa's art students' drawings, photography and sculptures.

French teacher Mrs. Bridget Baill and school librarian Mrs. Eileen Cramer attended the event as well. When not attending critiques, students participated in various workshops geared to the arts.
