On Friday, Jan. 13, Lawrence High School hosted its third annual Poetry Out Loud contest. Poetry Out Loud is a national program sponsored by The National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation. At the LHS competition, 13 students each performed two poems, recited from memory. One student performed his poems in American Sign Language.

And the winner was...Caitlin Quis. Laura Walker was the first runner up and William Burke was the second. Caitlin now will represent LHS at the regional competition in February. You may recall that she won the LHS contest last year, advanced to states, and placed within the Top Eight in New Jersey.
