Lawrence High Cancels Summer School

Lawrence High School has canceled summer classes due to low enrollment, but it is offering students other options.

Due to low enrollment, summer classes have been canceled at Lawrence High School, according to school officials.

Students can attend classes through a virtual school, Educere, that has programs “specifically designed to meet the needs of students who have not met with academic success,” according to the school district's website.

The cost of summer classes range from $97.50 to $250 and is the responsibility of the student's family. Lawrence High School and Lawrence Middle School have unique codes that must be submitted at check out to connect a student's courses with his or her school.

Those students interested in the virtual school must apply by June 29. High school coursework will run through August 3, and final exams must be taken at Lawrence High School. Middle school classes finish on August 17. Students in need of computer access are asked to contact Ms. Karas at 609-671-5458. Computers will be available at Lawrence High School between 9 am and 12 pm, Monday through Friday, June 25- August 3, 2012.
