Notre Dame High School improves to 3-2 at the midpoint of the season, while Lawrence High School - having secured its first win Thursday - stands at 1-4 on the year.

Notre Dame Gets Back on Track

After starting the season as one of the most explosive teams in Mercer County, the Notre Dame High School variety football team simmered during Weeks 3 and 4.

But a trip to Utah ended poorly as the . After the loss to Jordan, Notre Dame coach Chappy Moore talked about how the experience would hopefully make the Irish a better team when they returned back to New Jersey.

Throwing five interceptions and missing an extra point in the one-point loss to WW-P South, Notre Dame practically handed away the victory after leading 9-0 in the second quarter.

However, the rest of that game didn't go the Cardinals way, as they allowed 34 straight points, getting pushed around on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.

Radice said multiple times the Cardinals were better than their 0-4 record. With such a young group — which is learning on the fly — it was only a matter of time before Lawrence secured their first win of the season.

And that win came last night (Oct. 6) when the Cardinals traveled to Hightstown and improved to 1-4 on the season by defeating the Rams by a score of 48-14.
