Eldridge Park Students Spread Holiday Cheer to Troops Overseas

Students at the Lawrence Township elementary school recently put together holiday care packages to send to U.S. service men and women currently stationed in Afghanistan.

Students and staff at Eldridge Park Elementary School recently baked cookies, made cards, drew pictures and gathered seasonal candy and other treats to send to Lt. Cmdr. Michael Dean and his comrades who are currently stationed in Afghanistan.

Dean, who is the technology coordinator for Lawrence Township’s public school district, is in the U.S. Navy Reserve and currently on a 14-month deployment.

The effort was undertaken because students wanted the service men and women to have a “little taste of home” and know that they are not forgotten as they serve to keep us safe, especially during the holidays away from their families.
