Eldridge Park School 'Amateur Night' in Search of Acts

The "Amateur Night" event will take place on Oct. 26. Parents, students and alumni of the school, as well as general members of the Lawrence Township community, are invited to the school this Friday, Oct. 5, to audition for the event.

A community “Amateur Night” – one of the many events being held this year in celebration of the school’s 100th anniversary – will be hosted by Eldridge Park Elementary School on Oct. 26.

In preparation for the event, auditions will be held at the school on Lawn Park Avenue from 4 to 6 p.m. this Friday, Oct. 5.

The auditions are open to parents, students and alumni of the school, as well as general members of the Lawrence Township community.

Full rules and an audition application can be found on the second page of the PDF file in the media box to the right.

The school this week released the following announcement about the event:

Calling all community members…

We know that you all have talent… Let’s show it off at Eldridge Park’s Amateur Night on Oct. 26, 2012 at 7:00p.m.

Auditions are being held this Friday, Oct. 5, from 4-6 p.m. at Eldridge Park School (additional dates provided upon request).

We are bringing back a tradition from 62 years ago. Eldridge Park had Amateur Night beginning in 1950.

These are hard acts to follow but we know you are all up for the challenge. In the 50’s we had tap dancing, baton twirling, singing, ballroom dancing and other past times entertainment.

Can you match that???
