Education Foundation Celebrates 20 Years of Funding

Over the past 20 years, Lawrence Township Education Foundation has contributed over $2.4 million in grants to support nearly 500 programs in Lawrence Township's public schools.

Editor's Note: The following is a news release issued by the Lawrence Township Education Foundation.

The Lawrence Township Education Foundation (LTEF) has planned a year of special activities to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

The highlight of the celebration will be bonus "20th Anniversary Grants" awarded to each of the seven Lawrence Township Public Schools later this year. These will be funded in part by a gift of $20,000 to LTEF by longtime supporter, The Lawrenceville School.

LTEF was founded in 1992 by community members, educators, and business leaders who sought to bring together the many resources of Lawrence’s business and professional community for the benefit of the Lawrence Township Public Schools and all of its students.

The mission of the Lawrence Township Education Foundation is to foster excellence, creativity and achievement in the Lawrence Township Public Schools.

Over the past 20 years, LTEF has contributed over $2.4 million in grants to support nearly 500 programs across the Lawrence Township Public Schools (LTPS). The diverse portfolio of programs has enhanced the student experience across the spectrum in literacy to science, from the arts to technology and everything in-between.

With the generous long-time support of organizations like ETS, The Lawrenceville School, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Rider University along with local businesses, individuals, and LTPS faculty and staff, the Foundation has made a significant impact in the educational experience of Lawrence students.

LTEF awards funding to programs and projects that are conceived of by teachers and the administration and that would normally fall outside of the regular budget.

LTEF is proud to have provided the funding for the pilot phase of several initiatives that were then adopted district wide such as Let Me Learn, Math out of the Box and fourth-grade tours of Historic Lawrenceville. LTEF Trustees strive to ensure that all schools and all grade levels are impacted through the grants to teachers.
