Ben Franklin Students Show Their Kindness

Students at the elementary school have been doing a variety of service projects this year.

Over the past few months, Ben Franklin’s after school club participants, under the direction of  Kindergarten Teacher Theresa Krisak, have been working to make the world a better place through acts of kindness and hands-on service projects.

This winter the children were involved in doing small but powerful good deeds for others in our community.  They created beautiful snowflake placemats for the Lawrence Township Meals on Wheels recipients. The children also held a school-wide Food Drive for HomeFront and contributed and personally bagged and loaded the food prior to delivery.

In addition to the above, the children also decorated cards for a local Lawrence teen undergoing chemotherapy at CHOP.  Ironically, this particular teen was once also part of the LES Care Club. The children showed they CARED by decorating cards with jokes and making up a basket of goodies.
