College Swimming: Rider’s Molloy MAAC Male Swimmer of the Week

Senior Brian Molloy and junior Trevor Hiller of the Rider University swimming and diving teams were named the MAAC Swimmer and Diver of the Week it was announced Tuesday afternoon (Nov. 20).

EDISON — Senior Brian Molloy and junior Trevor Hiller of the Rider University swimming and diving teams were named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Swimmer and Diver of the Week it was announced Tuesday afternoon (Nov. 20).

Molloy (Toms River/Toms River HS East) and Hiller (Galloway Twp./Absegami) were honored for all competition November 12-18.

Molloy led Rider to a MAAC win at Marist this past weekend, winning the 1000-yard freestyle (9:57.98) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:41.58) and also swam the anchor leg of the winning 200 medley relay.

Hiller won the one-meter dive in Rider's MAAC win at Marist with a score of 328.57.

Molloy, a Mathematics major, is a MAAC All-Academic honoree and helped Rider win the team title at the 2012 MAAC championships by swimming the opening leg of the gold-medal 200 free relay.

Hiller, a Marine Sciences major, was 18th in the finals at NCAA Zones on the one-meter board after placing 19th on the three-meter board as a sophomore.

Hiller was also recognized by the MAAC at the end of October with Diver of the Week honors.

Rider competes at the Brown Invite Nov. 30-Dec. 2 in Providence, Rhode Island.
