Captain Paul's "Axed" by Carroll's Christmas Tree Farm

A sixth inning charge by Captain Paul's wasn't enough to overcome the errors made by Captain Paul's and a home run by Carroll's Tree Farm.

Pitching for Captain Paul's were Sean Hoffman, Kevin Dallepazze, Aidan Loughran and Patrick Wert. Playing catcher, John Weaver made a nice out picking off a runner stealing second in the third inning.

It took a full team effort for Carroll's Christmas Tree Farm to defeat Captain Paul's by a score of 5-3. Nolan Brody drew 2 walks and stole 4 bases, while Ronit Deshpande picked up a key RBI to tie the game at 1-1 in the 2nd inning. Shaun Johnson beat out an infield hit, and singles were added by David Ferdetta and Nabil Hachicha.

In the 3rd inning, Nick Ciuffreda hit a 3-run home run to right center field. There was nothing Captain Paul's centerfielder Matt Carson could do to mash the "tater."

Shaun Johnson, Justin Wolf, and Alex Pasquale pitched 2 innings each and held off a late surge by Captain Paul's.  David Ferdetta made a key catch in left field, Nolan Brody and Ronit Deshpande made big plays at 2B, and Nick Ciuffreda cut off a slow roller from 3B to end a rally by throwing across the diamond.

I would like to thank Coach Brian Ciuffreda of Carroll's Tree Farm for lending a hand in the game stats for the game. Coach Ray was busy in the press box keeping score and pitch count. Watching the game from the press box at Hughes field was a lot of fun. Thanks to parents Pete Roman and Kevin Pasquale for helping out too.
