Township, County Offices to be Closed on Labor Day

In observance of the holiday, there will be no collection of trash and recyclables in Lawrence Township on Monday, Sept. 3. Trash will instead be collected on Sept. 1 and recyclables picked up on Sept. 9.

In observance of the Labor Day holiday, there will be no collection of trash and recyclables in Lawrence Township on Monday, Sept. 3.

Trash that normally would have been picked up on Monday will instead be collected tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 1.

Monday's recycling collection, meanwhile, has been rescheduled and will take place a week later on Sunday morning, Sept. 9.

Lawrence Township's municipal offices will also be closed on Monday for Labor Day.

Similarly, most Mercer County offices and facilities will be closed on Sept. 3 in observance of the holiday.

The following County offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 3, and will reopen for business on Tuesday, Sept. 4:

  • McDade Administration Building (640 S. Broad St., Trenton);
  • Criminal Courthouse and the Office of Mercer County Clerk (209 S. Broad St., Trenton);
  • Civil Courthouse and Office of the County Surrogate (175 S. Broad St., Trenton);
  • Mercer County Connection (Route 33 at Paxson Avenue, Hamilton);
  • all branches of the Mercer County Library System.

The following County offices and facilities will remain open on Labor Day:

  • Trenton-Mercer Airport;
  • Correction Center;
  • Marina and Tennis Center at Mercer County Park;
  • all four County golf courses;
  • Equestrian Center;
  • Wildlife Center;
  • County Sheriff’s Office;
  • Emergency Services Communications Center (350 Lawrence Station Rd., Lawrence).
