Township Christmas Tree Lighting to be Held Sunday

Santa Claus will make an appearance with an escort from Lawrence Township volunteer firefighters.

Lawrence Township’s annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, at the at 2207 Lawrence Rd. (Route 206).

Township officials will make a few brief statements, and members of the Lawrence High School Madrigal Choir will perform several holiday tunes.

Santa Claus, escorted by volunteer firefighters from Slackwood Fire Co., will then arrive to pose for photos with children and their families.

Refreshments will be served courtesy of Terhune Orchards.

Attendees are invited to bring any hats, gloves, scarves and mittens they would like to donate. Junior Troops 70640 and 71071 of the Lawrence Ewing Trenton Area Girl Scouts will collect the items and forward them to local charities for distribution to the needy.
