Time Running Out to Pay Bills Before Tax Sale

Lawrence Township property owners have until the end of business today, Dec. 9, to settle their 2010 debits to avoid their properties appearing in the township's Dec. 12 tax sale.

Lawrence Township residents who still owe money to the township in the form of municipal taxes, sewer fees and other charges from calendar year 2010 have until the close of business today to settle those debts to avoid their properties being included in the .

The tax sale will take place Monday beginning at 10 a.m. in the council chambers in the municipal building at 2207 Lawrence Rd. (Route 206).

In preparation for the sale, the township last month published on its website a list of nearly 300 properties – both residential and commercial – located within Lawrence whose owners owed money to the township.

Some of those property owners have since settled their 2010 debts.

The list of still-delinquent property owners currently posted on the township website was last updated by the township tax collector on Nov. 29.
