Lawrence to Consider Curbside Organic Waste Program

The idea is keep organic waste- mostly food scraps and other biodegradable items - out of the regular trash.

Lawrence Township is considering a plan to begin a curbside organic waste program, similar to the one Princeton has had in place for past three years, according to nj.com.

The idea is keep organic waste- mostly food scraps and other biodegradable items - out of the regular trash. That would reduce the amount of waste going to landfills and hopefully reduce the Township's- and residents' trash costs.

Lawrence Council is expected to consider the proposal next month.
