Holt to Hold Town Hall Meeting in Lawrence on Monday

Economic development, hometown security, education, health care and other topics will be discussed when U.S. Rep. Rush Holt visits Lawrence Township on Oct. 17.

U.S. Rep. Rush Holt (D-Hopewell Township) of New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District will come to Lawrence Township Monday, Oct. 17, to host a Town Hall Meeting with area residents.

“We can talk about issues affecting our community, such as economic development, hometown security, energy, health care, education, social security or anything else that may be on your mind,” Holt said in a prerecorded phone message about the meeting which most township residents received yesterday (Thursday, Oct. 13).

The meeting, which is free and open to all, will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. in the council chambers at the Lawrence Township Municipal Building at 2207 Lawrence Rd. (Route 206). The meeting will be moderated by township Councilwoman Pam Mount.

Holt’s Town Hall Meeting will take place at the same time as the . During that event, being held at Lawrence High School starting at 6:30 p.m., school administrators will discuss current school initiatives and the district's five-year strategic plan.

“We did know about the school district meeting, but unfortunately this was the only time that worked with the congressman’s schedule,” Holt spokesman Thomas Seay explained.
