County to Host Eighth Annual Economic Summit

The event will be held on Feb. 28 at The Conference Center at Mercer County Community College.

Government and business leaders will give overviews on the state of the economy at the eighth annual Mercer County Economic Summit on Feb. 28.

The event, with the theme “The Road Ahead: Preparing Your Business for 2013 and Beyond,” will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. at The Conference Center at Mercer County Community College.

It will be presented by Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes, the Mercer County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Mercer County Office of Economic Development & Sustainability, in partnership with the Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce (PRCC). The event is brought to you by title sponsor PSE&G and supporting sponsors Verizon and NAI Fennelly.

Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes will deliver the Mercer County Economic Development Report, sponsored by Roma Bank.

His message will focus on business development and growth in the county and how this best positions the region for the coming year. Other speakers will include Bernie Flynn, president and CEO of New Jersey Manufacturers and chairman of Choose New Jersey; and Herb Taylor from Philadelphia Reserve Bank, who will offer a national and local economic update.

Featured discussions will include “Major Sporting Events 2014,” sponsored by PNC Bank and Dana Communications, with representatives from the NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee, the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games and Formula One Racing; and “Doing Business With Big Business,” sponsored by TD Bank and Comcast Business Class, with representatives from Princeton University, Johnson & Johnson, Otsuka and Educational Testing Service.
