Woman Arrested After Allegedly Stealing Student Backpack at Rider University

The incident happened late on Oct. 5.

A 37-year-old North Brunswick woman was arrested after police say she stole a Rider University student's backpack from the campus pub. 

Monica Jackson-Street, was charged with theft. She was employed by a subcontractor at Rider University, according to Lawrence Township Police. 

According to police, a Rider student left his backpack (containing an iPad) at the campus pub sometime between Oct. 5 at 9:10 p.m. and Oct. 6 at 12:30 a.m.

An investigation showed the backpack was picked up, allegedly by Jackson Street. The victim and Rider security tracked the iPad's location by GPS and tracked it to North Brunswick. 

When Jackson-Street arrived at work on Oct. 9, she was met by police and arrested.
