Theft of Two Vehicles Under Investigation by Police

Lawrence Township police are working to locate two vehicles that were stolen recently. The first was taken Friday afternoon from Quaker Bridge Mall, and the other sometime Sunday or Monday from a home on Lawrence Road.

Two vehicles were stolen during separate crimes in Lawrence Township in recent days, township police confirmed.

Lt. Mark Ubry, police department spokesman, said the auto thefts took place from Quaker Bridge Mall and a residence along Lawrence Road (Route 206).

It was 6:51 p.m. on Friday (July 20) when a township resident called police to report that his 2007 Honda Accord had been stolen from the upper level parking lot outside the Macy’s department store at the mall in the 3300 block of Brunswick Pike (Route 1), according to Ubry.

He said the man, who works at Macy’s, told police he last saw his vehicle about 1 o’clock that afternoon and discovered it missing when he went to go home at the ended of his shift. The vehicle was valued at $13,000.

The other crime was reported to police Monday morning (July 23). Ubry said a resident of the 1600 block of Lawrence Road notified police that her 2010 Hyundai Accent was missing from her driveway.

The theft was believed to have taken place between 6 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. Monday, he said.

The owner told police she might have left the vehicle unlocked, with the keys inside it, Ubry said, noting that the vehicle was valued at $17,000.
