Theft, Burglary at Trenton Building Block Leads to Hamilton Man's Arrest

A Hamilton man was arrested and charged with burglary and theft after police say he broke into Trenton Building Block on Cherry Tree Lane, rifled through offices and stole cash. 

Jorge Rodriguez, 19, of Hamilton was charged with burglary and theft . In lieu of $25,000 bail with 10 percent down, he was sent to the Mercer County Corrections Center. 

The incident happened on Jan. 1.

According to Lawrence Township Police, motion detector burglar alarms went off at Trenton Building Block around 8:30 a.m. When police responded, they found that someone had used a paving stone to smash the front window. Inside, the cash register had been ransacked $282 was missing) and a desk in the rear office had been rifled through. 

An officer spotted a man walking on the nearby canal path and put out a radio description. A resident spotted the man.

Police arrested Rodriguez in the area of Brunswick Avenue and Mulberry Street. They say he matches the man seen on the company's video surveillance tape of the burglary.
