Route 1 Accident Leads to Drug Arrest

Lawrence Township police responded to an accident early Friday morning.

Lawrence Township police responded to a one-car motor vehicle accident early Friday morning on the southbound side of Route 1 near Joe's Crab Shack, according to Detective Sgt. Joe Amodio.

Officer Joseph Radlinsky responded to the call at 1:39 a.m. As the officer approached the silver Chrysler to determine if the driver, Michael Richardson, 31 of Jackson had sustained any injuries, he observed evidence of drug paraphernalia and heroin in plain view inside the vehicle, according to Amodio.

Richardson was issued four motor vehicle summons and charged with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. Richardson was treated at Helene Fuld Medical Center in Trenton before he was released from custody, Amodio said.
