Residents Report Rash of Weekend Thefts

Police advise residents to lock their vehicles overnight.

 

Lawrence Township Police are investigating a rash of thefts on Fernwood Lane, Devon Avenue, Lawrenceville Gardens on Franklin Corner Road and Irwin Place that occured overnight on April 19 and into the early morning hours of April 20. 

Residents reported that their vehicles had been ransacked overnight and various items stolen, including jewelry, an iPad, stereos, speakers, drivers liscense and a credit card.

On Devon Avenue, a resident reported that two vehicles were stolen from a driveway- a 2007 Nissan Altima and a 2009 Nissan Altima, both valued at $20,000 each. 

The 2009 Altima was recovered on April 20 on Oak Lane in Trenton, after police say it was involved in an accident and abandoned.

Most residents reported that their vehicles were unlocked. Cars were broken into both on the street and in residents' driveways, according to police reports.
