Police Searching for Missing Woman with Alzheimer's

Dorila "Doris" Rodriguez of New York City was visiting her daughter in North Brunswick but disappeared on Sept. 1.

Authorities throughout the region are searching for a 68-year-old New York woman suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease, who went missing in North Brunswick last week.

Dorila "Doris" Rodriguez, of New York City, was visiting her daughter in North Brunswick but disappeared on Sept. 1. Police have searched the surrounding area and entered her information into the FBI National Crime Information Center database.

The New Jersey State Police also entered Rodriguez as a silver alert missing person.

Police said Rodriguez could be attempting to travel to her permanent residence in Brooklyn, New York. She is described by authorities as a Hispanic female with a fair complexion, brown eyes and brown colored hair with reddish highlights.

Rodriguez is approximately 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighs about 135 pounds. She was last seen wearing a pink shirt and white or light tan colored pants, and may be carrying a green bag.

Police said Rodriguez was also wearing a gold colored charm necklace. One of the charms is a black head with a crown and the other charm is a heart with the word "PAYA" stamped on it (see photo).
