Police Blotter: Man Allegedly Hit 74-Year-Old Woman

Here's a roundup of notable police activity in Lawrence Township from June 13 through June 20.

Aggravated Assault

Dominick Elisio, 62, of Miller Street in Trenton, has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault for allegedly punching a 74-year-old woman, according to Lawrence Township Police Department spokesman Lt. Mark Ubry.

The victim was at work in Rose’s Laundromat in the 1000 block of Brunswick Avenue when Elisio entered the business early Saturday morning, June 16, and started going through ash trays in search of cigarette butts he could smoke, Ubry said.

After 74-year-old advised Elisio that he was on private property and asked him to leave, Elisio allegedly punched the woman and knocked her to the ground, Ubry said. Leaving the woman on the floor, Elisio left the business, he said.

Another employee arrived for work a short time later and, finding the 74-year-old sprawled out on the floor, called 911 at 5:58 a.m., Ubry said. He said the 74-year-old was treated at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton.

Forgery

Rosalda Muller, 41, of Clifton was arrested about 7:10 p.m. on Friday, June 15, after she allegedly tried to use a counterfeit $100 bill to buy a men’s short-sleeved shirt worth $48 from the Pacific Sunwear store at Quaker Bridge Mall in the 3300 block of Brunswick Pike (Route 1), Ubry said. She was charged with forgery, he said, adding that the U.S. Secret Service was advised of the crime because counterfeit money was involved.

Drug Possession

Elijah Harmon, 22, of Trenton, and Breasia Askew, 19, of Morrisville, Pa., were arrested about 1:40 a.m. on Sunday, June 17, and each charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana after their vehicle was stopped by police, Ubry said.

Officer Sean Kerins initiated the traffic stop on Brunswick Pike (Route 1) near Quakerbridge Road after allegedly observing Harmon – the driver – make an unsafe lane change, Ubry said. Upon approaching the vehicle, he said, Kerins detected an odor of what he believed to be marijuana.

Subsequent investigation revealed Harmon and his passenger were in possession of marijuana, Ubry said. He said Harmon was also found to be wanted in connection with a warrant from Burlington Township and was also charged with multiple traffic violations, including driving while his license was suspended. Askew, meanwhile, was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, he said.

Receiving Stolen Property

Jamar Green, 21, of Phillips Avenue in Trenton, was charged with receiving stolen property and obstructing justice after he led police on a brief foot chase in Quaker Bridge Mall Wednesday evening, June 20, Ubry said.

Staff at the Old Navy in the mall contacted police at 7:21 p.m. to report they had a man acting suspiciously inside their store, Ubry said. He said Sgt. Joseph Lech responded to the Old Navy and approached the man, who was later identified as Green.

When he saw Lech coming toward him, Green allegedly dropped some merchandise he had in his hands and ran from the store carrying two bags, Ubry said. With the assistance of mall security guards, he said, Lech caught up with Green in the parking lot and discovered that the bags contained about $100 worth of stolen Old Navy property,
