A 20-year-old Lawrence Township man faces multiple charges after Lawrence Township Police say they found him in possession of burglary tools on Blackwell Road.
Bradley Buxton was charged with criminal attempted burglary, weapons offenses, and possession of burglary tools. He was taken to Mercer County Corrections Center in lieu of $50,000 cash bail.
According to police, it was Sunday, Sept. 8 around 8:30 p.m. when patrols spotted a suspicious vehicle parked near Cold Soil Road. Police were doing proactive patrols due to recent auto thefts and cars being broken into.
Two people were in the vehicle and police say they saw someone walking towards the car. Police stopped the vehicle as it drove away and say they saw a silver handgun partially hidden underneath the rear passenger seat where Buxton was sitting.
Police searched the vehicle and say Buxton also had a pry bar and a large rubber-handled axe.
Officers checked the house where Buxton was seen walking from, but it appeared no entry was gained to the home.
