No Injuries as Vehicles Overturn on I-95 in Lawrence

A collision between a car and a landscaper's truck resulted in both vehicles flipping over and landing on their roofs along Interstate 95 in Lawrence Township late Monday night, Jan. 16.

A collision between a car and a landscaper's truck resulted in both vehicles flipping over on Interstate 95 in Lawrence Township late Monday night, Jan. 16.

The accident occurred about 11:20 p.m. along the southbound side of I-95 near Milepost 6.8, between the exits for Route 206 and Federal City Road.

The car came to rest on its roof in the woods alongside the highway, while the truck – which was equipped with a snow plow and salt spreader – ended up on its roof blocking the center and right southbound lanes.

Lawrence Township Police, New Jersey State Police, a Lawrence Township ambulance crew and Lawrence Township volunteer firefighters responded to the crash.

Neither driver was trapped, nor was either man injured.

The center and right southbound lanes of I-95 were closed to traffic in that area for about an hour while tow truck operators worked to remove the wreckage.

The cause of the accident was under investigation by state police.

There was a light rain falling at the time and the temperature was hovering around the freezing mark, but it was not immediately clear if the weather played a role in the crash.
