"The robber entered the bank, approached the teller counter, waived and pointed a silver revolver at the teller and fired," Special Agent Bryan Travers, an FBI spokesman, said. "He escaped on foot with an undisclosed sum of cash."

The wounded teller was rushed by ambulance to the trauma center at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton and was undergoing surgery, Travers said. He declined to identify the teller.

The gunman was described as a black male, about 6 feet 2 inches tall, with a muscular build, who was wearing a black baseball cap, sunglasses, black gloves, dark blue long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans and tan work boots.

"This suspect should be considered armed and dangerous. Citizens should never attempt to apprehend any fugitive on their own and should call 911 in an emergency," Travers said.

Anyone with information about the gunman’s identity is asked to call the FBI at (609) 689-7999 or (973) 792-3000.
