Mercer County Remains Under Flash Flood Watch

Heavy rain is creating slick road conditions throughout the area.

Mercer County remains under a Flash Flood Watch until 4 a.m. Saturday (July 9) as a result of the thunderstorms and heavy rainfall generated by low pressure moving along a stationary front in the Mid-Atlantic region, according to the National Weather Service.

“A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation,” the weather service advised.

The weather services said rainfall totals for Friday afternoon and evening will likely exceed 2 inches in many parts of New Jersey, with certain isolated areas getting 3 or 4 inches by the end of the night.
