Man Indicted on Sexual Assault on a Minor Found Living With Children

Martinez-Espana was under a judge's order to have no contact on children.

A 42-year-old man who was under orders to stay away from children now faces a contempt of court charge after he was found living with children in Lawrence. 

Eufemio Martinez-Espana was sent to Mercer County Corrections Center in lieu of $40,000 bail with 10 percent down. 

The arrest happened on Monday, Oct. 28 shortly after 3 p.m. after authorities learned that Martinez-Espana was living on Texas Avenue in a home with children.

Martinez-Espana is currently under indictment for second degree sexual assault which allegedly took place in Lawrence between July 2011 and March 2012, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office. It's alleged that Martinez-Espana touched a six-year old female victim underneath her shirt on her bare chest. 

As a condition of bail, Judge Robert Billmeier set Martinez-Espana's bail at $10,000 cash or bond and ordered the defendant have no contact with children as a condition of bail, according to the Prosecutor's Office.
