Lawrenceville Firefighters Douse Mower Blaze [Video]

The smoke that could be seen in the area of Quakerbridge Road, near Grovers Mill Road, Saturday afternoon (Dec. 10) was generated by a fire involving a lawn mower.

It was about 4:30 p.m. when volunteer firefighters from Lawrenceville Fire Co. were alerted to the blaze. Landscapers were reportedly working to clear leaves behind an office building in the 100 block of Grovers Mill Road when the mower they were using caught fire and ignited some of the leaves nearby.

Workers used portable fire extinguishers to put out some of the blaze before firefighters arrived. Firefighters finished dousing the fire and wet down the entire area to prevent a rekindle.
