Lawrence Township Police Respond to Injured Deer

But wounded animal - which had been impaled on a fence - ran off before officers arrived.

Shortly before 10 a.m. today (Saturday, Aug. 13), Lawrence Township police received multiple 911 calls from passing motorists and other concerned citizens that a deer was impaled on a fence near the intersection of Lawrence Road (Route 206) and Franklin Corner Road.

Several officers responded but when they arrived the deer was nowhere to be found. Police said a witness reported seeing the deer “wiggle” off the fence and scamper off into a nearby wooded area toward Interstate 95.

Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the animal. The extent of the deer’s injury was unknown.
