Lawrence Resident Among Injured in Princeton Crash

Princeton Township police said two drivers and three passengers were treated for minor injuries following the accident on Sunday

Five people - one of whom is from Lawrence Township - were treated for injuries after a two-car crash on Mercer Street in Princeton Township on Sunday (Aug. 7).

Princeton Township police said two vehicles were involved in the accident near Princeton Battlefield Park about 2:20 p.m.

One of the drivers, Merry Martin, 52, of Lawrence, was transported to the University Medical Center at Princeton for chest and neck pain. Her passenger, Romulo Lopez of Princeton Borough, also was taken to the hospital for injuries suffered in the crash.

The other driver, Anthony Norcott, 17, of Ewing, was transported to UMCP for neck pain and minor cuts on his face, police said. Two juvenile passengers in his car also were taken to the same hospital for minor injuries.

Police said it appeared the 2002 Hyundai driven by Norcott was making a U-turn when it was struck by the 2003 Mazda driven by Martin.

Mercer Street was closed to southbound traffic at Lovers Lane for about 30 minutes as a result of the collision.

Police said charges would be filed after their investigation is completed.
